Field Technician: Level 1

Pay $18 - $22/HR*
Are you a highly skilled generator service technician or generator diesel mechanic looking for a career with a long-standing, growing company? Are you equally skilled in mechanical and electrical installation and troubleshooting and great at customer service? If so, we should talk.
Seeking applicants located in central North Carolina, eastern North Carolina, western North Carolina, or Virginia.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 1 to 2 years field service experience and knowledge of generator maintenance and repair on all brands of emergency standby and prime power applications of generators and automatic transfer switches. Knowledge and experience of electronic and mechanical components.
· Must have the ability to diagnose and repair all brands of generators and automatic transfer switches.
· Must have a strong understanding of electricity and how to make and distribute electrical power.
· Must have a strong understanding of all engine types and combustion engines (Gasoline, LP gas, Diesel, and Natural Gas)
· Must have own mechanics tools and electrical meter. Company supplies all specialty tools, equipment, computer, phone, uniforms and work truck.
· Applicant must be able to use a laptop and have knowledge of excel and outlook. Must be able to use smart phone.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds, have a strong work ethic and ability to work long hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to perform inspections on customers’ generators, requiring the technician to drive to the site, interact with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
· Must be able to keep a clean appearance and keep work areas clean and free from clutter.
· Use excel program, or other software, to fill out field reports in a timely manner.
· Assessing and report urgency of all needed repairs as well as accurately identifying any and all defective parts to be ordered including part numbers, serial numbers and photos.
· Stay organized, keep track of time and have the ability to work long hours including some nights, early mornings and weekends in any weather condition.
· Be able to troubleshoot any issues with the generator and/or equipment that is used.
